Today's F@cked Buyer (Tamarac)

Thank you a reader, "140 Dollar per Sq Foot" for this property. This unit shows how trying to catch a falling knife can get one in trouble. It was purchased only six months ago and is already on the market for some reason. Because the property is homestead and the photo make it appear to be lived in, this unit does not look like a flip. Yet, after living in the home for only six months, the owners are selling it for some reason. They've listed it as a short sale, so if it sells, they will lose their downpayment (only $800 on this 80/20 piggyback ARM), some of their furniture, which they're throwing in according to the listing agent notes, and their credit rating. They will also get hit by a hefty tax bill when they receive their 1099 at the end of this tax year (assuming it sells). They would have been MUCH better off renting.
