Incidentally, if you look at Realtor.com, it lists the square footage of this home at 2,195 Sq. Ft. On the other hand, Ziprealty.com has its square footage at 1,791 square foot.
I imagine the previous figure includes garage space. Therefore, I used the latter to compute price per square foot.

So, although they are borrowing money at cheap rates, they bought a Ford and paid Mercedes prices for it. I wonder how long it will take people to realize that taking a foreclosure hit may be financially prudent in a weird sort of way. Then again, they did buy the Ford, so maybe not.
AND, is this really a good idea? These people will be diverting funds into a negative growth asset when they should be funding their retirement/college.
